Paul Lisicky Developing Your Memoir July 31 to August 5, 2016 Tuition: $600 Workshop: 9AM-Noon Discipline: Nonfiction/Memoir OPEN TO ALL On-site Housing Available

This is a class for those who are looking to begin (or revive) a memoir project. We’ll spend the first part of the week reading and thinking about the work of other writers, generating material inspired by those selections. We’ll spend the final two days talking about your new work. Along the way we’ll work hard, have fun, and make sure delight isn’t an enemy to seriousness.

Biography

Paul Lisicky’s six books include Later: My Life at the Edge of the World, The Narrow Door, Unbuilt Projects, and Lawnboy. His work has appeared in The Atlantic, Conjunctions, The Cut, Fence, The New York Times, Ploughshares, and elsewhere. His awards include fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the NEA, and the Fine Arts Work Center, where he has served on the Writing Committee since 2000. He is an Associate Professor in the MFA Program at Rutgers University-Camden and lives in Brooklyn.
