Rebecca Gayle Howell Into the Song’s Air: A Poetry Workshop August 5 to August 10, 2018 Tuition: $600 Workshop: 1-4pm Discipline: Poetry OPEN TO ALL On-site Housing Available

This workshop is part of our 3rd Annual Poetry Festival.

This week-long revision intensive invites poets to consider more closely the power of pushing out the boundaries of the English sentence. Reading, across genres, masters of the ecstatic–James Agee, Gwendolyn Brooks, Cormac McCarthy, Dickinson, Melville, Ross Gay, C.K. Williams, Joy Williams–we will combine linguistic and creative craft study to engage our own existing drafts in new ways. Together, we will revise, not in resented necessity, but as fresh and generative practice.

Please bring with you at least five poems that you hope to push off the page and into the song’s air.
