2024 Summer Workshops

Paul Yoon Structure and Movement: A Fiction Workshop June 9 to June 14, 2019 Tuition: $650 Workshop: 9am-12pm Discipline: Fiction OPEN TO ALL On-site Housing Available

Fiction writing is architectural. Among other things, we’ll focus on how best to assemble your workshop piece; how to lift and develop the narrative at the right times and to perhaps pull back and give it more breath and space at other times. Although this workshop is devoted mostly to honing your own work, we will also discuss, and study, a published short story at the start of each class–which I will assign the day before. We will then workshop two stories each day. This workshop is open to everyone and all are welcome.

Please email a piece of writing that you would like us to workshop – a short story or novel excerpt: 5 pages min/20 pages max, double-spaced, 12-point font – to Dawn Walsh at dwalsh@fawc.org by May 31.
