2024 Summer Workshops

Ivy Pochoda The Novel from Beginning to End June 16 to June 21, 2019 Tuition: $650 Workshop: 9am-12pm Discipline: Fiction OPEN TO ALL On-site Housing Available

So you’ve finished a novel. Or you’re finishing a novel. Or you’re thinking about starting a novel. No matter where you are in this process this workshop is for you (even if you’ve taken it before). In our class, we will consider any book, regardless of stage, as something that will one day be complete. We will examine first chapters and how they set expectations and how those expectations will be met in the course of the novel. We will look at existing outlines and explore alternate and creative ways of reimagining structure. This is a fun and fully participatory workshop that will leave everyone with a new sense and shape of a work in progress. This class is suitable for first time novelists and published writers alike.

Ivy Pochoda will also teach an online course for the Work Center called “Jumping into Your Novel.” For more information, click here.
