2023 Summer Workshops

This workshop is part of our 3rd Annual Poetry Festival.
We will read poems together out loud to get a sense of their sound, in fact, to be moved by their sound (of course, this is a tautology, because sound literally moves us by anvil, hammer, stirrup, cilia). We will consider the ways a poem gathers, records, composes, and transforms sensory and sensual experience by way of rhythm and repetition. How does a poem convey a singing image? This will largely be a discussion-based, generative, experimental workshop.
