This advanced workshop is both generative and discussion-based. We will talk about the world – from ancient to present – with short texts for focus, and we will write freely and read aloud.

This class requires a writing sample for admittance. Interested participants should submit a 5-10 page sample of prose, fact and/or fiction to workshops@fawc.org prior to registering for the class. Your submission will hold your space in the workshop. You will be notified within a week of your acceptance, at which point you will need to register and pay to secure your spot in the workshop.

Biography

Over the years FANNY HOWE has written numerous books of fiction, essays and poetry, published mostly recently by Graywolf Press. She has won the Ruth Lilly Lifetime Achievement Award. Her most recent collection of poetry is Second Childhood, a Finalist for the National Book Award 2014. She was a Finalist for the Man Booker International Award, 2015. Her newest collection is The Needle’s Eye, a hybrid book. She lives in Massachusetts.
