2024 Summer Workshops

Rowan Ricardo Phillips After Great Pain A Formal Feeling Comes: Exploring Experiences Through Poetic Form July 10 to July 15, 2016 Tuition: $600 Workshop: 9AM-Noon Discipline: Poetry OPEN TO ALL On-site Housing Available

This workshop focuses primarily on poetic form. You will study, in brief, the history of these forms – their strict and loose interpretations, and how your formal poems can thrive in the present instead of seeming beholden to, and sounding like they were written, in the past. You will be expected to write a new poem in a new form for every workshop meeting. Designed for all levels of poets, regardless of past experience with formal poetry.
