James Stroud Master Printer Series: Jump Start Etching – Photoetching on Copper August 21 to August 26, 2016 Tuition: $600 Workshop: 9AM-Noon Discipline: Printmaking OPEN TO ALL On-site Housing Available

Artists in this course will ‘jump start’ the etching process by transferring drawings or photos from clear film onto photo-sensitive copper etching plates and then develop them further through more traditional means. Master Printer James Stroud will then help students find and employ creative printing techniques to further resolve their images.

Biography

James Stroud is a painter and master printer who is the Founder/Director of Center Street Studio, a professional printmaking workshop that prints and publishes contemporary prints with emerging and established artists. His work is represented in several public collections including the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, Russia, the Yale University Art Gallery, the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College and the Fogg Museum.
