2023 Summer Workshops

We will be writing for young adults – those mythical beings – both by writing in-class, and also going over work you generate this week, or have brought with you. We’ll be talking about things like voice, plotting, genre, courage, setting, truth-telling, audience, sex, drugs and rock n’ roll. We’ll be looking at some examples of great writing for young adults, trying to figure out, as fellow writers, how to write our own stories the best way possible. There are no prescriptions for writing, but we can find inspiration, support, and maybe even a few shortcuts. The workshop is run casually, but at a galloping pace, and all are warmly welcomed.
