Each year the Fine Arts Work Center hosts a number of events connecting Fellowship alumni and arts patrons invested in supporting creativity and the future of arts and letters. The highlight of our event season is the Summer Awards Celebration in Provincetown, an annual star-studded commemoration of individuals whose gifts for writing, art, and action have shaped contemporary culture. 

Past honorees have included prominent writers, artists, and arts philanthropists such as playwright Tony Kushner, artist and activist Ai Weiwei, novelist Michael Cunningham, poet Mary Oliver, director and producer Ryan Murphy, and the late painter Robert De Niro, Sr., whose son Robert De Niro accepted the award on his behalf.

Proceeds from this celebration and other events throughout the year provide vital operating support for the Fine Arts Work Center and our renowned Fellowship Program.
