MAJOR JACKSON is author of five volumes of poetry, most recently, The Absurd Man. His edited volumes include
Renga for Obama and Best American Poetry 2019. His poems, essays, and reviews have appeared in The American
Poetry Review, The New Yorker, The Paris Review, and The New York Times. He teaches at the University of Vermont and
is the recipient of honors from The Guggenheim Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and Whiting Foundation.
He serves as poetry editor of the Harvard Review.
JILL BIALOSKY’s most recent memoir, Poetry Will Save Your Life, was published in 2017. She is the author of four
collections of poetry, The Players, Intruder, Subterranean, and The End of Desire; three critically acclaimed novels, The
Prize, House Under Snow, and The Life Room; and The New York Times bestselling memoir History of a Suicide: My
Sister’s Unfinished Life. Asylum, her newest poetry collection was just published.
PETER FILKINS is the author of five collections of poetry, including The View We’re Granted and Water/Music,
forthcoming from Johns Hopkins UP in April, 2021. His poems, essays, and translations have appeared in Poetry, The Paris
Review, The Yale Review, The American Scholar and numerous other publications. He has also translated the collected poems
of Ingeborg Bachmann, and three novels by H.G. Adler. He teaches writing, literature, and translation at Bard College.
GARRETT HONGO was born in Volcano, Hawai’i. His collections of poetry include Coral Road: Poems,
The River of Heaven, which was the Lamont Poetry Selection of The Academy of American Poets and a finalist for the
Pulitzer Prize; and Yellow Light. He is also the author of The Mirror Diary: Selected Essays and Volcano: A Memoir of
Hawai’i, winner of the Oregon Book Award for nonfiction. His honors include fellowships from the Guggenheim
Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Rockefeller Foundation. He is currently a professor of
creative writing at the University of Oregon at Eugene.
MARIA HUMMEL is a novelist and poet. Her most recent novel, Still Lives, was a Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine
Book Club pick, Book of the Month Club pick, and BBC Culture Best Book of 2018. She is also the author of Motherland,
a novel, a San Francisco Chronicle Book of the Year; House and Fire, winner of the APR/Honickman Poetry Prize;
and Lesson in Red, forthcoming in 2021.
DAVID LEHMAN’s books include One Hundred Autobiographies: A Memoir and Playlist: A Poem. He is the editor of The
Oxford Book of American Poetry and series editor of The Best American Poetry. He has written nonfiction books about the
New York School of poets, classic American popular songs, Frank Sinatra, and mystery novels, among other subjects.
SANDRA LIM is the author of Loveliest Grotesque and The Wilderness. She is the recipient of a 2020 Literature Award
from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Levis Reading Prize, and a Getty Foundation grant. She was born in
Seoul, Korea, grew up in California, and now lives in Cambridge, MA. She is an Associate Professor at the
University of Massachusetts Lowell.
SEBASTIAN MATTHEWS is author of the poetry collections Miracle Day: Mid-Life Songs and We Generous, and the
memoir, In My Father’s Footsteps. He co-edited Search Party: Collected Poems of William Matthews and New Hope from
the Dead: Uncollected Matthews. He teaches for Warren Wilson College, the Great Smokies Writing Program,
and the Queens University Low-Residency MFA in Creative Writing.
ALISON PRINE’s debut collection of poems, Steel was named a finalist for the 2017 Vermont Book Award.
Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Ploughshares, The Virginia Quarterly Review, Five Points,
Harvard Review and Prairie Schooner among others. She lives and works in Burlington, Vermont.

PRAGEETA SHARMA is the author of the poetry collections Grief Sequence, Undergloom, Infamous Landscapes,
The Opening Question, which won the 2004 Fence Modern Poets Prize, and Bliss to Fill. She is the founder of the
conference “Thinking Its Presence: Race, Creative Writing, Literary Studies and Art.” A recipient of the 2010 Howard
Foundation Award, and a finalist for the 2020 Four Quartets Prize, she has taught at the University of Montana
and is now the Henry G. Lee ‘37 Professor of English at Pomona College.
JOSHUA WEINER is the author of three books of poetry and the editor of At the Barriers: On the Poetry of Thom
Gunn. Berlin Notebook, reporting about the refugee crisis in Germany, was published by Los Angeles Review of Books.
A chapbook, Trumpoems, is a free digital edition from Dispatches from the Poetry Wars. His translation of Nelly Sachs’s
Flight & Metamorphosis will be published by Farrar Straus Giroux in 2021.
